Job Objective

Manages the Materials function along with Materials Manager within the department by overseeing the hotel procurement and ensure best quality & rates available as per budget, pre-laid processes (Materials manual). Assists the Materials Department with a view to maximise profitability and achieves desired financial results.

Essential Job Tasks

1 - Evaluating products, price and quality. 2 - Vendor evaluations to be carried out on periodic basis. 3 - Negotiating contracts for the hotel and working out on the agreements with suppliers for product delivery. 4 - Monitoring the market rates on periodic basis

Areas of Responsibility

•Assist in planning, organizing, and managing the purchasing function of the hotel.
•Source quality products and services at competitive prices while maintaining required standards.
•Obtain quotations, negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
•Identify and evaluate new suppliers to enhance competitiveness and operational efficiency.
•Ensure timely purchasing of food & beverage products, operating supplies, engineering items, housekeeping materials, and other hotel requirements.
•Establish and maintain strong professional relationships with vendors and business partners.
•Conduct regular vendor evaluations and recommend supplier improvements where necessary.
•Resolve supplier-related issues efficiently while protecting the hotel's interests.
•Work closely with the Finance, Stores, and Operational Departments to maintain optimum stock levels.
•Maintain accurate documentation for quotations, purchase orders, contracts, and supplier records.
•Ensure ethical purchasing practices and adherence to company standards.
•Prepare purchasing reports, cost analysis, supplier performance reports, and savings initiatives.

Required Qualifications

•Degree or Professional Qualification in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
•Professional certifications in Purchasing, Supply Chain, or Materials Management will be an added advantage.
•Minimum 4-6 years of progressive experience in purchasing, procurement, materials management, or supply chain operations.
•Previous experience in the hospitality industry is highly desirable.
•Strong negotiation and supplier management skills..
•Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
