Job Objective

To support the execution of airline catering operations by ensuring systematic checking and timely dispatch of flights as per schedules, airline requirements, and HACCP standards. The role involves coordinating with multiple departments, supervising operational readiness during the shift, facilitating communication of airline requirements, and maintaining hygiene, quality, and equipment standards to ensure smooth and compliant flight operations.

Essential Job Tasks

  1. Coordinate and monitor flight dispatch operations during assigned shifts.
  2. Ensure compliance with airline standards, HACCP, and hygiene norms.\
  3. Monitor deadlines, load changes, and operational deviations.
  4. Facilitate staff training, equipment availability, and inter-departmental coordination.
  5. Handle complaints and support continuous improvement in service delivery.

Areas of Responsibility

1. Flight Coordination & Dispatch
Ensure all flights within the shift are systematically checked and dispatched from the catering unit as per flight schedules.
Monitor load changes and promptly arrange for additional meals or equipment as required.

2. Inter-Department Coordination
Coordinate with Preparation Coordinators, Supervisors, Flight Supervisors, and feeder departments such as kitchen, washing, bond, and transport to ensure smooth handling of flights.
Liaise closely with airlines on changes related to menus, equipment packing procedures, flight schedules, and other flight-related information, ensuring timely communication to Flight Supervisors.

3. Operational Control & Deadlines
Ensure all activities are completed within defined deadlines.
Establish controls to identify deviations or delays and immediately escalate the same to the Duty Manager.

4. Quality, Hygiene & HACCP Compliance
Ensure strict adherence to HACCP procedures during food handling and dispatch.
Record and monitor food temperatures as per defined standards.
Maintain high standards of personal, workplace, and departmental hygiene, ensuring the preparation areas are kept clean and orderly.
Ensure staff are in proper uniform and well groomed at all times.

5. Training & Performance Support
Organize training for new staff and provide continuous training to sectional staff to improve operational performance.
Support supervisors in maintaining operational discipline and standards.

6. Inventory & Equipment Management
Maintain adequate equipment inventory to ensure optimum utilization of airline equipment.

7. Complaint Handling & Reporting
Investigate complaints received from customers or other departments.
Keep the Duty Manager informed of complaints, findings, root causes, and corrective and preventive actions taken.

Required Qualifications

Graduate / Diploma in Hotel Management, Catering, or equivalent

Work Experience

8-10 years of  experience in airline catering, inflight services, or flight operations coordination preferred
