Job Objective

• Ensure activities are in line with the developed sales objectives.

• Plan and implement sales programs.

Essential Job Tasks

• Effectively cost and price events, ensuring profitability while maintaining competitive pricing.

• Direct the day-to-day activities of the catering team, ensuring seamless coordination and execution of events.

• Achieve budgeted revenues and personal sales goals by developing and implementing strategic sales initiatives.

• Review daily posting of charges, identifying and resolving any discrepancies in a timely manner.

• Direct the catering sales effort to ensure revenue maximization, leveraging a strong understanding of food and beverage operations, kitchen workflows, and banquet service procedures.

• Plan budgets and forecast revenue, ensuring alignment with the hotel's financial goals and maintaining overall profitability.

Areas of Responsibility

• Business Development: Develop and execute strategic sales plans to identify and acquire new business opportunities, driving revenue growth and expanding the catering department's customer base.

• Revenue Generation: Set and achieve ambitious revenue goals for the catering department, ensuring consistent growth and profitability.

• Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges, informing data-driven sales strategies and tactical plans.

• Team Leadership: Recruit, hire, train, and manage a high-performing sales team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation.

• Financial Management: Oversee the department's budget and financial performance, ensuring optimal resource allocation, cost control, and ROI maximization.

• Client Relationship Management: Address client concerns and issues promptly and professionally, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction and loyalty.

• Debtors Management: Extend event credit strictly in accordance with the prescribed policy, and actively reduce and maintain debtor days within the hotel's defined standards.

• Sales Strategy and Planning: Develop and execute effective sales strategies, tactics, and plans, aligning with the department's overall business objectives.

• Marketing and Promotion: Collaborate with marketing teams to promote catering services, developing and implementing targeted marketing initiatives and campaigns.

• Sales Reporting and Analysis: Track and analyze sales performance, identifying areas for improvement, optimizing sales strategies, and informing data-driven decision-making.

• Training and Development: Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for the sales team, ensuring continuous skill enhancement, knowledge sharing, and best practice adoption.

• Performance Management: Set clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance evaluations to ensure individual and team goals alignment.

• Team Motivation and Engagement: Motivate and inspire the sales team to achieve goals, fostering a positive, inclusive, and high-performing team culture.

Required Qualifications

A degree in Hospitality Management

Work Experience

Minimum of 8 - 10 years of experience in the catering sales deparment and minimum of 2 years in managerial positionin the hospitality industry

Languages Needed in Position

Proficiency in English
