Job Objective

To be responsible for overall hotel operations and achieve revenue and profitability targets, guest satisfaction and employee relations through working with a team of functional heads. Optimize operational efficiency and improve service standards to achieve best in class processes. Build strong relationships with high profile customers and strategic partners such that the hotel achieves the desired brand positioning and ensure compliance to brand standards and guidelines.

Essential Job Tasks

• Ensure compliance with respect to legal, safety and security operations, hotel brand and service standards. Ensure completion of routine and quality assurance audits and take corrective action in a timely manner.

• Ensure adherence to financial norms and authorize exceptions. Partner with the Purchase team in selecting and reviewing vendor performance and respond to escalations related to budget expansion, inventory management, and other approvals.

• Create a cohesive and high-performing team by focusing on result orientation; provide learning and development and career opportunities, reward and recognition programs, etc. to employees in coordination with the HR team.

• Actively support the HR team with respect to staffing processes, ensuring timely compliance with work processes like performance management, employee engagement, and training and development.

• In addition to the above-mentioned duties and job functions, any other assignment given by the management within the scope of the job.

• Adhere to the Tata code of conduct, safety policies, and values of the organization as defined.

Areas of Responsibility

• Achieve annual revenue and plan budgets with the team by allocating targets and funds amongst different departments and reviewing performance against revenue, profit, costs, and guest satisfaction.

• Create the annual revenue and budget plan for the hotel including marketing plan, capital expenditure plan, and employee budget; ensure these are within the company framework and in line with global standards. Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor practices, and relative market share.

• Establish standards for food quality, food and beverage services, and front office operations, creating accountability within the team to improve guest satisfaction and profitability.

• Work closely with the Sales team to develop an effective pricing and promotion strategy, balancing seasonality and customer segments to generate higher revenues for the hotel and support brand positioning in the local market. Identify ways to grow occupancy levels, RevPAR, and market share.

• Ensure that quality standards are met in all areas of the hotel, including levels of maintenance and cleanliness, preventive maintenance programs, timely execution of renovation and refurbishment projects, and compliance with security standards, fire, and crisis management.

• Review metrics with respect to financial performance, market share, inventory management, guest satisfaction, employee engagement, and proactively address issues to meet business performance standards.

• Build relationships and service high-profile customers like Heads of States, Presidents of visiting countries, CEOs of top Fortune companies on a frequent basis to obtain feedback about their experience with hotel products and services. Develop innovative ways to exceed guest satisfaction.

• Interact and develop strategic alliances with local officials, businesses, embassies, and consulates. Anticipate the needs of large groups and respond by delivering flawless service, ensuring that the hotel attains the appropriate publicity.

• Responsible for overall hotel operations and achieving revenue and profitability targets.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate / Post Graduate Degree in hotel management

• In-depth knowledge of domestic and international markets, industry and market trends, competitor activities, cross functional exposure and statutory compliances, etc.

• Customer orientation, Decision making, People Management, Analytical ability, Financial Acumen.

Work Experience

12-15 years of across hotel operations

Languages Needed in Position

Should be fluent in both English, Hindi and preferably the Regional dialect.

Key Interfaces- External

Conducts periodic competition analysis and plans tactical strategies to increase and maintain a leading share in the market.

Key Interfaces- Internal

*Create the annual business strategy for the hotel. *Develop departmental goals and strategies and ensure alignment with the hotels business strategy. Review other income sources and formalise a policy to maximize the same.
