Job Objective

This position exists to assist the AVP Distribution and E-commerce in managing distribution-related functions, as well as to lead and oversee special projects related to distribution and e-commerce.

Essential Job Tasks

• Drive revenues from all channels, including GDS and Voice, for all hotels.
• Assist in driving the RFP program for the chain and provide troubleshooting support by liaising with Corporates and TMCs.
• Understand systems and aid all operational tasks, including setup, troubleshooting, and system management.
• Conduct regular discussions with hotel Revenue Managers to ensure systems are set up and maintained as per guidelines.
• Support hotels in optimizing revenues and determining an appropriate channel mix.
• Help hotels achieve a fair share from the GDS, ADS, and Voice channels across all segments.
• Monitor and provide guidance to the RRO and TRW teams on day-to-day functions and activities.
• Manage new hotel openings by activating hotels across GDS and Voice channels.
• Refresh and maintain all Revenue Management processes and document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), including detailed RFP SOPs, setup guidelines, inclusions, Inventory Management, Rate Management, and GDS mapping files.
• Understand systems and detail specifics that may be unique to different Corporates, TMCs, and alliance programs.
• Drive a centralized business intelligence tool for performance tracking and collaborate with the MIS team on monthly and yearly performance analysis.
• Ensure effective execution of all processes at the unit level.
• Conduct periodic audits of properties across GDS and all systems & tools, identify gaps, and evaluate & implement improvements for business excellence.
• Assist in onboarding and mentoring new Revenue Management team members.
• Knowledge Management – Maintain a centralized and accessible repository of all information related to GDS and Voice, including cross-training and learning initiatives.
• Revenue Management Training – Provide effective training to all Revenue Managers on guidelines and processes related to GDS, including Corporate and Consortia RFPs and Retail rates.
• Mentor and guide Revenue Management interns.

Special Projects
• Assist the AVP Distribution & Corporate Director in various chain-wide initiatives and projects.
• Study and monitor developments in the tourism industry and Revenue Management & Distribution for innovations and thought leadership, rolling out applicable strategies across the chain.
• Evaluate new opportunities for revenue through channels or alliances.

Areas of Responsibility

Strategically develops the revenue management & distribution function to support the AVP Distribution in effective decision-making, pricing, distribution, sales, marketing, and competitive strategy.  

• Assists with implementing special projects to redefine distribution through property management systems, revenue management systems, analytics, web/e-commerce systems, and business processes for current and future Taj hotels globally.  
• Works operationally with Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Technology on initiatives that contribute to achieving the chain’s revenue performance goals.

Required Qualifications

•    Bachelor’s Degree holder in Commerce / Hospitality Management or a related area. Masters’s Degree Preferred, but not required mandatorily.
•    Knowledge of hotel Revenue Systems i.e. Opera PMS, Synxis CRS, Ideas RMS, Alternate Distribution Platforms, OTA Extranets, Metasearch and Global Distribution System.
•    Advance Computer Skills – Microsoft Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Word

Work Experience

At least 4-5 years experience in Revenue Management and Distribution, or E-Commerce Platforms
