Job Objective
This position exists for leading the Security & Safety team at a property, ensuring full compliance with safety regulations, fire and life safety standards, and implementing security protocols effectively. The role involves managing incidents, conducting risk assessments, overseeing staff training, and ensuring a safe and secure environment for both guests and employees.
Essential Job Tasks
Assists in leading the security and safety function for a large property or manages a mid-size property independently. Supervises staff, ensures compliance with security protocols, and leads emergency preparedness programs. Conducts risk assessments and leads incident investigations. Collaborates with property leadership on safety and security strategies, managing projects such as security system upgrades and safety audits.
Areas of Responsibility
1. Leadership and Supervision of Security & Safety Operations.
• Operational Leadership. Lead day-to-day operations of the security and safety team, ensuring effective coordination among security supervisors, executives, and guards. Oversee the deployment and readiness of staff during routine operations and emergencies.
• Staff Scheduling and Performance Management. Manage staff rosters, ensuring adequate coverage for all shifts, including night patrols. Conduct regular performance reviews, provide feedback, and recommend training and development opportunities for team members.
• Leadership in Incident Response. Act as the point of escalation during security and safety incidents, ensuring swift and accurate responses by the team. Oversee the team's handling of incidents, from initial response to follow-up investigation and reporting.
2. Property Patrols, Safety Inspections, and Incident Management.
• Regular Patrol Supervision. Direct and oversee routine property patrols, focusing on critical areas such as entry/exit points, guest room corridors, parking areas, and high-risk zones. Ensure that patrol staff promptly report and address potential risks such as unauthorized access or safety hazards.
• Inspection and Compliance. Conduct daily and weekly safety inspections of the property, ensuring compliance with fire safety standards, life safety protocols, and equipment readiness. Check firefighting systems, alarms, exit routes, and emergency signage for operational readiness.
• Incident Management. Ensure prompt response to any security or safety incidents, such as fire alarms, medical emergencies, or unauthorized access. Conduct post-incident investigations, ensuring all relevant documentation is completed and corrective actions are taken.
3. Access Control & Surveillance Management.
• Access Point Management. Oversee all access control points, ensuring the team diligently monitors and restricts unauthorized access to sensitive areas such as server rooms, storage, and restricted guest zones. Implement and enforce security protocols for visitors, contractors, and vendors.
• Surveillance Systems Oversight. Manage the surveillance systems, including CCTV, ensuring all cameras are operational and positioned strategically to cover key areas. Supervise the live monitoring process, ensuring that operators proactively report suspicious activity or security breaches in real-time.
• Card Access Systems. Supervise the proper management of electronic access systems, ensuring accurate logging and review of access logs for sensitive or restricted areas.
4. Fire & Life Safety Management.
• Fire Safety Protocols. Oversee the maintenance and readiness of fire detection systems, firefighting equipment, and evacuation routes. Ensure all fire drills are conducted in compliance with regulatory standards and property guidelines. Review fire safety protocols regularly to ensure optimal preparedness.
• Life Safety Preparedness. Manage life safety programs, including first aid, medical response, and emergency evacuation plans. Ensure all staff and relevant stakeholders are trained in emergency evacuation procedures and are aware of safety assembly points.
• Fire Drills and Emergency Simulations. Conduct regular fire drills, medical emergency simulations, and crisis scenario rehearsals with property staff to ensure preparedness for various emergencies.
5. Risk Assessments, Audits, and Compliance.
• Comprehensive Risk Management. Conduct comprehensive security and safety risk assessments on the property, identifying vulnerabilities in physical security, access control, and fire/life safety systems. Ensure appropriate mitigation strategies are put in place to address identified risks.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Occupational Health & Safety, or equivalent
• Certification in Fire Safety, First Aid, or Occupational Safety
Work Experience
• 13-15 years of experience in security and safety roles, with leadership experience in large properties

•Fluency in English, Hindi, and local dialects
