Job Objective
The Food & Beverage Guest Service Associate (GSA) is responsible for delivering exceptional dining experiences by providing attentive, courteous, and efficient service to guests. With 2 years of prior experience, the GSA is expected to demonstrate strong product knowledge, guest handling skills, and the ability to support smooth restaurant and banquet operations.
Essential Job Tasks

Guest Service Excellence: Welcome guests warmly, take orders accurately, and ensure timely service.

Product Knowledge: Demonstrate understanding of menu items, ingredients, and beverage pairings to guide guests.

Operational Support: Assist in setting up dining areas, buffets, and banquets as per standards.

Compliance: Follow hygiene, grooming, and food safety standards as per IHCL guidelines.

Team Collaboration: Coordinate with kitchen and stewarding teams for seamless service delivery.

Upselling & Revenue Contribution: Suggest menu items and promotions to enhance guest experience and increase revenue.

Complaint Handling: Address guest concerns politely and escalate to supervisors when necessary.

Training & Mentorship: Support new associates by sharing best practices and operational knowledge.
Areas of Responsibility
Guest Service

Welcoming guests warmly and ensuring seating arrangements are handled efficiently.

Taking accurate orders and ensuring timely service of food and beverages.

Upselling menu items and promotions to enhance guest experience and revenue.

Handling guest complaints politely and escalating issues when necessary.
Operational Excellence

Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in dining and bar areas.

Ensuring table setups, cutlery, glassware, and bar counters meet IHCL standards.

Monitoring inventory of beverages, bar supplies, and restaurant equipment.

Supporting banquet/ODC setups when required.
Compliance & Safety

Adhering to food safety and HACCP guidelines.

Following grooming standards and departmental SOPs.

Ensuring responsible service of alcohol in line with legal and company policies.
Team Collaboration

Coordinating with kitchen and stewarding teams for smooth service.

Assisting colleagues during peak hours to maintain service flow.

Training new associates on restaurant and bar standards.
Financial Contribution

Accurate billing and handling of POS systems.

Monitoring wastage and controlling beverage costs.

Contributing to revenue targets through upselling and efficient service.
Required Qualifications

Diploma/degree in Hotel Management or equivalent.

Minimum 2 years of experience in Food & Beverage service (restaurant, bar, or banquets).

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Knowledge of POS systems and billing procedures.

Ability to work in high‑pressure, fast‑paced environments.

Flexibility to work in shifts, weekends, and holidays.
