Job Objective

The Security & Safety Team Leader is responsible for overseeing the efficient management of security and safety operations. This includes supervising S&S Supervisors and ensuring all safety protocols are followed across the property. The role entails responding to incidents, promoting a culture of safety, and ensuring the integrity of security functions, such as patrolling, access control, surveillance, and compliance with fire and life safety regulations.

Essential Job Tasks

Leads the security and safety team, supervises patrols and incident responses, and coordinates access control measures. Reviews incident reports and ensures surveillance and alarm systems are functional. Organizes regular training for team members on safety protocols and conducts fire and emergency drills. Collaborates with property management to address risks and implements proactive security measures.

Areas of Responsibility

1. Supervision of Security & Safety Teams
Daily Operations: Lead the S&S Supervisors and their teams to ensure operational readiness and adherence to schedules. Monitor and guide security and safety personnel to ensure they perform their duties efficiently and according to established protocols.

Operational Readiness & Safety Compliance: Review operational and safety checklists completed by the S&S Supervisors and their teams. Conduct assessments before each shift to ensure that all team members are prepared and aware of current risks and safety regulations.

Performance Monitoring: Evaluate the performance of S&S Supervisors regularly. Provide constructive feedback and guidance to improve team performance, ensuring adherence to high standards of safety, security, and operational efficiency.

2. Patrolling, Safety Checks & Incident Response
Supervising Patrolling Teams: Oversee routine security patrols, ensuring all areas of the property are covered and any incidents or security risks are promptly addressed. Review patrol logs and direct teams on how to handle security concerns effectively.

Safety Inspections & Checks: Monitor and guide the S&S Supervisors in conducting regular safety checks on the property, including fire safety equipment, hazardous zones, and emergency exits. Address and resolve any safety issues identified during these inspections.

Incident Management: Lead the response to security and safety incidents. Collaborate with the S&S Supervisors and other teams to ensure incidents are resolved promptly. If necessary, escalate critical incidents to senior management for further action.

3. Access Control & Surveillance
Oversee Access Control Measures: Ensure all access points are monitored, and that staff are diligently enforcing security measures. Review daily access control logs for any breaches or suspicious activities and take corrective actions when necessary.

Surveillance Monitoring: Oversee the operation of CCTV and surveillance systems, ensuring they are functioning effectively at all times. In coordination with S&S Supervisors, review surveillance footage post-incident or as needed to detect any suspicious activity.

4. Fire, Life Safety & Emergency Preparedness
Fire & Life Safety Compliance: Ensure that fire drills are conducted regularly across the property. Monitor the functionality of fire exits, fire alarms, and firefighting equipment. Lead the team during drills and manage the evacuation process during emergencies.

Emergency Protocols: Train staff on emergency procedures, fire exits, and assembly points. Supervise S&S Supervisors and other team leaders during evacuation drills and emergencies to ensure swift and safe execution of protocols.

5. Incident Reporting, Safety Audits & Documentation
Incident Reporting: Ensure that all incidents are accurately documented by S&S Supervisors. Review incident reports to determine if corrective actions or follow-up are needed. Submit reports to senior management for review.

Audits & Safety Inspections: Coordinate regular safety audits with S&S Supervisors to ensure compliance with company standards. Implement corrective actions for any discrepancies identified during audits.

6. Promoting Security & Safety Awareness
Security & Safety Training: Organize ongoing training and briefings for security and safety staff to ensure they are knowledgeable about current protocols, emergency procedures, and best practices in the industry.


 

Required Qualifications

•Degree in any discipline, with certifications in fire safety, first aid, or occupational safety preferred
•Security & safety certifications are advantageous

Work Experience

•    16-18 years of experience in S&S roles, with extensive experience managing large properties or multiple properties

Languages Needed in Position

•Fluency in English, Hindi, and local dialects
